Holiday park electrics, tested between seasons
Annual inspections, new pitch connections, CCTV and ANPR for holiday, caravan and camping parks across Cornwall. We've installed and tested new pitch connections on parks before, so we know how they're put together.

Why parks are inspected every year
Most premises are inspected every few years. For caravan and camping parks, industry guidance recommends an inspection every year. Long outdoor cable runs, weather, and guests plugging in and out every day all wear the installation faster than indoors.
Pitch supplies usually run on a TT earthing system, because the socket outlets on pitches must not use the electricity supplier's PME earth. Safety then depends on earth electrodes in the ground, and their resistance changes with ground conditions, moisture and corrosion. Each year we measure them to confirm the RCDs will still clear a fault safely (RA × IΔn ≤ 50 V).
What we check on every pitch
- Each pitch is fed from its own supply point next to the pitch, no more than 20 metres from where the caravan, motorhome or tent connects.
- Socket outlets are rated at least 16 A to BS EN 60309-2 (the blue industrial type), with no more than four grouped in one supply point.
- Sockets are mounted between 0.5 and 1.5 metres above the ground, in enclosures rated at least IP44.
- Every socket has its own overcurrent protection and its own 30 mA RCD, each tested to confirm it trips correctly.
- Earth electrode readings, buried and overhead cables, and the distribution boards and feeder pillars around the site.
Working to the latest regulations
From 15 October 2026, new electrical work must meet BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 (Amendment 4). We work to the current edition, and your report sets out clearly what needs attention and how urgent it is.
Our inspection covers the park's fixed installation, up to and including the pitch supply points. Caravans, motorhomes and lodges have their own internal wiring under separate requirements, so they're inspected separately.
We book testing for the off-season or around changeovers, and isolate one area at a time so the rest of the park stays powered.

Clear labelling makes every future inspection quicker.
More than testing
One contractor for the park's power, security and connectivity.
New pitch connections
New pitch supply points and hook-up bollards, the cabling to them, and full testing and certification of the finished installation.
Remedial work
Fixing what the inspection finds, from failed RCDs to damaged bollards, with a clear quote before any work starts. More about remedial work.
CCTV coverage
Cameras covering entrances, reception, car parks, facilities and play areas, positioned to cover what matters without overlooking pitches unnecessarily, and powered and networked properly from the start.
ANPR at the entrance
Number plate recognition cameras that log vehicles coming and going, so you can check arrivals and spot vehicles that shouldn't be on site. Number plates are personal data, so we'll talk you through signage and how long to keep records.
Site-wide Wi-Fi
Guest Wi-Fi across the park, plus the network behind your cameras, ANPR and reception. More about networking.
Certificates you can find
Digital reports and certificates kept on record, so the next inspection date and any outstanding items are never a surprise.
